Featured Art and Artist
Out for a Stroll by Kristen Lloyd aka Krazi Ani
Kristen J. Lloyd is a self-taught artist and musician from southeast Idaho. Her fascination with illustration began with watching her favorite cartoon characters on Saturday morning, and then recreating them in her own short stories. As her artwork improved and her creative tastes shifted more towards original works, she began drawing western cartoons of the animals and people she grew up with on her grandparent's dairy. This caught the attention of Cowboy Cartoonist International who extended an invitation to Kristen to apply for a CCI membership. She was accepted in 2016, and now has the opportunity to license her cartoons with other CCI members to Leanin' Tree Greeting Cards in Boulder, Colorado. Their support and encouragement inspired her to create her current project, which is a comic series called “My Pal Moo”. It is based on her friendship with a dairy cow named Honeybee that she had growing up. Kristen’s work has now been recognized by The Academy of Western Artists, who named her Cowboy Cartoonist of the Year 2018.
When she isn't drawing, Kristen enjoys working as a musician, western entertainer and train robber at Heber Valley Railroad in Wasatch County Utah. She and her husband Devin live in Midway, UT. firstname.lastname@example.org
